MEet the Herd
Based at the GRI Wildlife Discovery Centre, the Lusaka Elephant Nursery houses the youngest and most vulnerable orphaned elephants. Once rescued, the Nursery becomes their first home and the Nursery Herd, their new family. At around 2 to 3 years old, the young elephants are relocated to the Kafue Release Facility in Kafue National Park to start the next phase of their journey back to the wild.
