Community Radio
Radio is one of the most powerful tools for conservation education in rural Zambia, where literacy rates are low and access to formal information is limited. Through weekly broadcasts, we bring conservation directly into people’s homes.

'Conversations Conversations'

Broadcast live every Friday at 7 pm on 101.5 FM Adroit Radio in Luangwa, the programme is presented by GRI’s Community Outreach Ranger, Chrispine Tembo, in both English and the local language, Nyanja. Listeners are invited to call in and share their experiences, making the show interactive and community-driven.

Episodes tackle the most urgent conservation and livelihood issues facing communities, such as:

Reaching Across Borders

The radio signal reaches Luangwa District, parts of Nyimba and Rufunsa Districts in Zambia, as well as communities in Kanyemba (Zimbabwe) and Zumbo (Mozambique) - extending conservation awareness beyond national borders.

Lasting Impact

Radio empowers communities with knowledge, gives them a voice in conservation, and builds a sense of shared responsibility for protecting wildlife and wild spaces.
