Sponsor a Day at the
GRI - Wildlife discovery centre
Provide a meaningful and memorable educational experience for local children, and invest in the long-term preservation of Zambia's natural resources.
Inspire the next generation of rangers for just £250
At GRI’s Wildlife Discovery Centre, we aim to make a significant long-term contribution to the protection of wildlife and wild spaces by showcasing Zambia’s natural wealth, increasing environmental awareness and inspiring greater conservation stewardship. A hub of environmental activities, the Centre will provide local employment opportunities, facilitate greater collaboration between conservations partners, and support the regeneration of Lusaka National Park.
As well welcoming local and international visitors, each day we will invite 20 children and 2 accompanying teachers from local low-resource schools to participate in an interactive and immersive learning experience at the Wildlife Discovery Centre. Each school group will be provided with return transport to Lusaka National Park. On arrival, they will be welcomed by our Front of House Team, then handed over to our dedicated Conservation Education Rangers, who will lead the students in their exploration of our interactive Conservation Huts; guide them on an exclusive nature walk in the National Park and transport them through four of Zambia’s rich ecosystems as they delve into the multi-sensory habitat exhibits in our Explorertorium.
Each child will enjoy a nutritious meal cooked with fresh produce supplied by GRI’s local Women’s Empowerment Groups, and the opportunity to observe the young elephant orphans at the on-site Elephant Nursery.
By sponsoring a day at GRI’s Wildlife Discovery Centre you will be supporting an entire team of dedicated conservationists and support workers, empowering vulnerable women, engaging local communities, and providing much needed conservation education to local children.
