Inspire the Next Generation

At GRI’s Wildlife Discovery Centre, every day is a chance to inspire the next generation of conservationists. From interactive huts and multi-sensory exhibits to guided nature walks and close encounters with rescued elephants, children and teachers step into Zambia’s wild spaces to learn, connect, and dream.

By sponsoring a Discovery Day, you’re not just opening young eyes to the wonders of nature—you’re empowering local communities, creating jobs, regenerating Lusaka National Park, and fueling a team dedicated to protecting Zambia’s wildlife.

Join us in turning curiosity into conservation action.

Sponsor a Discovery Day and enable 25 Zambian children the opportunity to explore Lusaka National Park

Sponsor a Discovery Day

Most children growing up in Zambia’s cities have never seen a wild elephant, giraffe, or zebra in real life. Their experiences of nature are often limited to textbooks or TV. Despite living in one of the most wildlife-rich countries in Africa, the bush can feel distant, unfamiliar, or even irrelevant to their daily lives.

A Discovery Day changes that.

  • It sparks a sense of wonder: seeing a giraffe tower above the treeline creates memories no classroom can match.

  • It nurtures belonging: children realise that Zambia’s incredible wildlife is their heritage — something to be proud of and protect.

  • It makes conservation real: children meet rangers, educators, and researchers — people from their own communities dedicating their lives to protecting wildlife.

By sponsoring a Discovery Day, you’re giving Zambian children the chance to reconnect with nature and discover the treasures of their own country. This one-day experience can shift perspectives for a lifetime, inspiring future careers, passions, and choices that keep conservation at the heart of Zambia’s future.
