LOT 1: GRI EXCLUSIVE CONSERVATION SAFARI
A luxury, immersive six-day experience for 2 guests, Zambia
Join Game Rangers International (GRI) on a unique six-day journey for two people from Lusaka to Kafue National Park, immersing yourself in the vital work that protects wildlife and wild spaces through ranger empowerment, community engagement, and wildlife rescue.
Your adventure begins in Lusaka, with a visit to the Wildlife Discovery Centre and Elephant Nursery in Lusaka National Park, where you’ll meet the animal caregivers, join a morning elephant walk, learn about the primates in care, witness GRI’s education and rehabilitation initiatives in action and take a drive to look for wildlife including giraffe, wildebeest and white rhino. You will stay at the stunning Lilayi Lodge, a perfect introduction to Zambia and its wildlife.
You will then travel deep into Kafue National Park, one of Africa’s largest and most biodiverse landscapes, to visit our Primate Transit Home and witness the process of rehabilitation and release for primates rescued from the illegal pet trade. In addition to this exclusive experience, your stay at the jaw-dropping Ila Lodge will more than satisfy your luxury safari experience.
Your next stop will be in South Kafue National Park hosted on the shoreline of Lake Itezhi-Tezhi by Konkamoya Lodge, to experience the best of Italian cuisine and hospitality in the African bush. From this exquisite base, you will visit the GRI Field Headquarters to understand the essential role of rangers across the landscape, and then continue to the Elephant Release Facility where you will see the orphaned elephants in their final phase of rehabilitation as they take their steps back into the wild.
This experience will culminate with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in wild elephant tracking to find now wild-orphan Chamilandu and her history-making calf, who was born truly wild, unassisted, and free. This is conservation at its most profound - and YOU can be part of it.
Throughout this experience you will be escorted by GRI senior personnel to ensure deep insights into wildlife conservation and an authentic Zambian experience. The Greater Kafue Landscape is one of the biggest in Africa and offers a wide variety of terrains and species to discover - not to mention the birdlife, which is prolific. Walking with the orphaned elephants and safari drives are just a selection of the activities included in this once in a lifetime conservation experience.
With thanks to the generosity of our partners we can offer the perfect blend of a working camp experience by day and luxury accommodation by night. This is not a typical safari – it’s a rare look at active conservation in one of Africa’s last great wildernesses.
Hosted by Sport Beattie (GRI Founder & CEO), Rachael Murton (Country Director), and Britius Munkombwe (Nkala Conservation Project Manager) - each with over 17 years of experience with GRI - this is a rare opportunity get unparalleled insight from the very people who have dedicated their lives to protecting Zambia’s wildlife.
