Olimba Mtima was found in terror by the side of her mother who had been caught around the neck in a poacher’s snare and shot three times. Sadly, her mother was too injured to be saved and had to be put out of her suffering. Olimba’s name means “strong heart”. Despite her early trauma, she has become a strong, caring elephant, who was the matriarch of the nursery herd, before she took the next step in her journey to Kafue Release Facility. The bold red stripes on her Little Ndaba toy represents her strength of character.
The Little Ndaba Orphaned Elephant collection have been carefully hand made by women in Zambia. Your purchase contributes to their empowerment and ability to take care of themselves and their children.
