The Elephant Walk-Ride-Run is a conservation-oriented sporting event incorporating activities for a range of abilities, from an easy family-friendly 5km walk, through to a 25km run or 60km cycle for more advanced participants.
The event is held inside the beautiful Lusaka National Park where you can enjoy our designated event nature trails in a car-free, clean-air environment just minutes from the heart of Lusaka city.
The Elephant Walk-Ride-Run will be facilitated through the GRI Wildlife Discovery Centre, where you and you family/spectators can enjoy elephant viewing, educational wildlife displays, kids activities and playground, with shopping at the COLLECTIVE and refreshments at the BUSH CAFÉ.

- Entry into race

Event Details
The race will start promptly at 07:00 for all categories
All race trails will be clearly marked for each category throughout the Park
Water stations for refreshments and first aid* will be located at the 5km and 11km points indicated on the map
The 60k cycle trail will exit the Park at the Lilayi Gate – we will provide the GPX file for the section outside the Park
There is a strict no littering policy for the event.
Any participants who are caught being non-compliant risk disqualification from the event
All categories will start and finish at the Wildlife Discovery Centre, where your family and spectators can enjoy the full range of facilities.
Entry fees into the Centre will apply for all non-race participants.
Prize Giving ceremony will be held at 10.30am at the Wildlife Discovery Centre
Upon registration you will receive confirmation of your entry and digital pass which you will need to present at both MFEZ and DNPW gates for entry into Lusaka National Park (without payment).
Race registration will be held on Friday 26th April where you can collect your race boards (for cyclists) and bibs (for runners). Location TBC.
*First Aiders and basic supplies will be available on the course, please note there will not be an ambulance present throughout this event

This event is aligned with the “E-Race Extinction Global Event”, a global movement to support wildlife conservation through awareness and funds generation, spearheaded by GRI Partner and US charity, ‘Stop Poaching Now’. www.stoppoaching-now.org​All funds raised through the Elephant WALK-RIDE-RUN will support wildlife conservation in Zambia through Game Rangers International.
At the GRI-Wildlife Discovery Centre we are able to provide focused, immersive and impactful conservation education to a wide audience, highlighting the vulnerability of wildlife in Zambia and fostering a love and respect for nature, targeting our future generation for long term impact.
All funds raised through this event will ensure we can continue to reach Lusaka’s lowest income schools and provide them with ‘Discovery Day’ (full day) experiences at the Centre. ​
